Tilted- Christine and the Queens

tilted_official_single_cover_by_christine_and_the_queensSince October I have been obsessed with “Tilted” or “Christine”. Initially the attraction was because of the music and the beat. The production is on point and intoxicating. The lyrics then made me scratch my head a bit, because they didn’t seem to make much sense, at least not in an obvious way. “I am actually good, can’t help it if we’re tilted” made sense, just not the rest.

Research lead me to find that Christine is a French recording artists, which makes the French break in the middle of the song make more sense. According to Wikipedia, the song was originally written in English and then translated into French, and then translated once again into English. That would explain why in the English version, the lyrics may not mean or go together the same way that they do in French. At the end of the day, I don’t really care. it actually is what helps make the song unique and totally different.

Take a listen below and let me know what you think about “Tilted”. I even included the French version, it is very pretty to listen to.
